Ceratobulimininae was named by Cushman (1927). It is extant. It was considered unknown by Loeblich and Tappan (1984).

It was assigned to Cassidulinidae by Cushman (1927); and to Ceratobuliminidae by Loeblich and Tappan (1984), Margerel (2012) and Missotti (2022).
