Eodichroma was named by Cockerell (1923). It is not extant. It is the type genus of Eodichrominae, Eodichromini.
It was assigned to Eodichromini by Cockerell (1923); to Calopterygidae by Carpenter (1992); to Euphaeinae by Nel and Paicheler (1993); and to Eodichromatini by Bechly (1998) and Archibald and Cannings (2021).
