Taxonomy
Carabites deplanatus was named by Heer (1878). It is an impression. Its type locality is Bjuf, which is in a Rhaetian terrestrial shale in the Höganäs Formation of Sweden.
It was recombined as Pseudocarabites deplanatus by Handlirsch (1906).
