Camponotus shanwangensis

Taxonomy
Camponotus shanwangense was named by Hong (1984). Its type specimen is Dong12Nan, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Shanwang, Linqu County, collection Dong, which is in a Burdigalian lacustrine - large mudstone in the Shanwang Formation of China.

It was corrected as Camponotus shanwangensis by Zhang (1989) and Bolton (2012).
