Taxonomy
Cryptostephanidium goncuoglui was named by Tekin (1999). Its type specimen is Pl. 24, fig. 7 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 96-UKT-530, Sugozu Measured Section I, Alakircay Nappe, which is in a Longobardian marine chert/mudstone in the Sapadere Formation of Turkey.
