Rectifenestella retiformis
Taxonomy
Keratophytes retiformis was named by von Schlotheim (1816). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Glücksbrunn, Thuringen, which is in a Wuchiapingian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Zechstein Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Gorgonia retiformis by Geinitz (1841); it was recombined as Fenestella retiformis by Howse (1848), King (1850), Geinitz (1861), Langenhan (1899), Mansuy (1912), Dreyer (1961), Sakagami (1964), Sakagami (1968), Morozova (1970) and Malecki (1977); it was recombined as Rectifenestella retiformis by Morozova (1974), Morozova (1981), Morozova and Kruchinina (1986), Nakrem (1994) and Ernst (2001).
