Canoptum poissoni

Taxonomy
Canoptum poissoni was named by Pessagno et al. (1979). Its type specimen is USNM 251862 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gümüslü, sample 1662D, which is in a Pliensbachian basinal (carbonate) limestone in the Sögütlü dere Formation of Turkey. It is the type species of Canoptum.
