Borealonectes russelli
Taxonomy
Borealonectes russelli was named by Sato and Wu (2008). Its type specimen is NMC 40729, a partial skeleton (skull, cervical vertebrae and right forelimb), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cape Grassy, Melville Island plesiosaur, which is in a Callovian marine sandstone/siltstone in the Hiccles Cove Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Borealonectes.
