Codonofusiella nachodkaensis was named by Sosnina (1968). Its type specimen is TsGM 66-68/8248, a test, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cape Popov, Trudnyy Peninsula (TsGM coll), which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in the Russian Federation.
