Taxonomy
Bakevellia ungunica was named by Okuneva (1977). Its type specimen is TsNIGR 2/11044, a valve (left valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quarry at Ungun village, Bolshie Churki Range, which is in a Smithian carbonate limestone in the Russian Federation.
