Richardsonites richardsonianus

Taxonomy
Gastrioceras richardsonianum was named by Girty (1909). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 2082 green, Sandy Creek, which is in an Arnsbergian marine shale in the Caney Formation of Oklahoma. It is the type species of Richardsonites.

It was recombined as Cravenoceras richardsonianum by Plummer and Scott (1937) and Gordon (1964); it was recombined as Richardsonites richardsonianus by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1971) and Titus (2000).
