Taxonomy
Gastrioceras angulatum was named by Girty (1911).

It was recombined as Glaphyrites angulatus by Plummer and Scott (1937), Ruzhentsev (1950), Wagner-Gentis (1971) and Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1971).
