Taxonomy
Shumardites cuyleri was named by Plummer and Scott (1937). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is B.E.G. 119-T-22 (M-9), northeast of Jacksboro, which is in a Gzhelian marine shale in the Graham Formation of Texas.
