Ophiderpeton kirktonense
Taxonomy
Ophiderpeton kirktonense was named by Milner (1994). Its type specimen is NMS G 1988.3.1, a partial skeleton (articulated skull and anterior trunk), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is East Kirkton site (Units 70-82: East Kirkton Limestone), which is in a Brigantian spring shale/limestone in the East Kirkton Limestone Formation of the United Kingdom.
