Taxonomy
Helophorus (Mesosperchus) yixianus was named by Fikáček et al. (2012). Its type specimen is CNU-COL-LB2010004, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Huangbanjigou, Chaomidian Village, CNU 2010 collection, which is in a Barremian lacustrine - large mudstone in the Yixian Formation of China.
