Ichthyovenator laosensis
Taxonomy
Ichthyovenator laosensis was named by Allain et al. (2012) [A baryonychine spinosaurid with the following autapomorphies: a dorsosacral sinusoidal sail (Figs. 2 and 6); penultimate dorsal neural spine is 410 % of centrum length with anterodistal finger-like process (Fig. 1); fanshaped sacral neural spines 3 and 4; transverse processes of first caudal vertebra with sigmoid profile in dorsal view; deep prezygapophyseal centrodiapophyseal fossae the first caudal vertebra (Fig. 3); long iliac blade with ilium/pubis length ratio highest than in any other theropods. Moreover, I. laosensis is characterized by some features unknown in other tetanuran theropods: posterior dorsal ribs articulated with sternal complex (ESM); proximal pubic plate with obturator and pubic notches (Fig. 4); large ischial plate with ischial foramen; and mediolaterally flattened ischial shaft.]. Its type specimen is MDS BK10-01 to 15, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ban Kalum, Tang Vay, which is in an Aptian terrestrial horizon in the Grès supérieurs Formation of Laos.
