Plastomenus thomasii

Taxonomy
Trionyx thomasii was named by Cope (1872) [AMNH 6018 is the designated neotype by Joyce and Lyson 2010]. Its type specimen is AMNH 6018, a partial shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cottonwood Creek badlands (Bridger B), which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in Wyoming.

It was recombined as Plastomenus thomasi by Hay (1908); it was considered a nomen dubium by Joyce and Lyson (2010); it was recombined as Plastomenus thomasii by Cope (1873), Cope (1875), Hay (1902), Hay (1930), Vitek and Joyce (2015) and Lyson et al. (2021).
