Autobranchia

Bivalvia -

Taxonomy
Autobranchia was named by Groblen (1894) [not sure, but apparently this is an illegal emendation of Autolamellibranchiata by earlier authors]. It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Autolamellibranchiata by Giribet and Wheeler (2002); it was reranked as the infraclass Autobranchia by Hikuroa and Grant-Mackie (2008); it was reranked as the subclass Autobranchia by Carter et al. (2011).

It was assigned to Bivalvia by Hikuroa and Grant-Mackie (2008) and Nevesskaja (2009); and to Eubivalvia by Carter et al. (2011).
