Its type locality is Santa Cruz Formation, which is in a Santacrucian terrestrial horizon in the Santa Cruz Formation of Argentina.

Synonyms

Its type locality is Cerro Observatorio, which is in a Santacrucian terrestrial horizon in the Santa Cruz Formation of Argentina.

It was synonymized subjectively with Microbiotherium tehuelchum by Marshall (1982).
  • Halmarhiphus didelpoides was named by Ameghino (1891). Its type specimen is MACN 5716, a mandible (fragment of a right mandibular ramus with m1-2 complete, and roots of m3-4), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Observatorio, which is in a Santacrucian terrestrial horizon in the Santa Cruz Formation of Argentina.

It was corrected as Halmarhiphus didelphoides by Ameghino (1894); it was synonymized subjectively with Microbiotherium tehuelchum by Marshall (1982).

Its type locality is Cerro Observatorio, which is in a Santacrucian terrestrial horizon in the Santa Cruz Formation of Argentina.

It was synonymized subjectively with Microbiotherium tehuelchum by Marshall (1982).
  • Hadrorhynchus tortor was named by Ameghino (1891). Its type specimen is MACN 5738, a mandible (fragment of right mandibular ramus with alveoli of i1-c, roots of p1-2, p3 complete, and alveoli of m1-2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Observatorio, which is in a Santacrucian terrestrial horizon in the Santa Cruz Formation of Argentina.

It was synonymized subjectively with Microbiotherium tehuelchum by Marshall (1982).
