Taxonomy
Strombina (Strombina) tumbezia was named by Olsson (1932). Its type specimen is PRI 2289, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Pyrene (Strombina) tumbezia by Oinomikado (1939); it was recombined as Sincola (Sinaxila) tumbezia by Jung (1989).
