Discoproptychites walcotti
Taxonomy
Proptychites walcotti was named by Hyatt and Smith (1905). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Union Wash, Meekoceras bed, Inyo Range, which is in a Smithian slope limestone in the Union Wash Formation of California. It is the type species of Discoproptychites.
It was recombined as Discoproptychites walcotti by Kiparisova (1956).
