Taxonomy
Spirifer interplicatus was named by Rothpletz (1892). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ajer Mati (Wichmann collection), which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate sandstone in Indonesia.
It was recombined as Spirifer (Elivina) interplicatus by Reed (1944); it was recombined as Spiriferella interplicata by Waterhouse (1966).
