Taxonomy
Astartella pusilla was named by Harrington (1955). Its type specimen is CPBA 5824 and is a mold. Its type locality is Abra Fea, Sierra de las Tunas, which is in a Sakmarian marine sandstone in the Sauce Grande Formation of Argentina.
