Taxonomy
Bustylus cernaysi was named by Gheerbrant and Russell (1991). Its type specimen is CR 15950, a tooth (left m2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cernay, which is in a Thanetian terrestrial horizon in the Conglomérat de Cernay Formation of France.
