Palaeostylops macrodon
Taxonomy
Palaeostylops macrodon was named by Matthew et al. (1929). Its type specimen is AMNH 21715, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gashato (AMNH), which is in a Paleocene terrestrial horizon in the Khashat Formation of Mongolia.
It was recombined as Gashatostylops macrodon by Cifelli et al. (1989).
