Taxonomy
Procerithium (Rhabdocolpus) patagoniensis was named by Ferrari (2012). Its type specimen is MPEF-PI 3517, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LO 29, Lomas Occidentales, which is in a Pliensbachian/Toarcian coastal sandstone in the MulanguiƱeu Formation of Argentina.
