Taxodiella was named by Kuznetsova (1957) [Sepkoski's age data: K Barr]. It is not extant. Its type is Taxodiella recticaulis.

It was assigned to Cytheracea by Benson et al. (1961); and to Podocopida by Sepkoski (2002).
