Rhynchonella anglica was named by Rollier (1917). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Radstock, Middle Lias, which is in a Jamesoni marine horizon in the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Rimirhynchia anglica by Ager (1958), Ager and Westermann (1963) and Alméras and Fauré (2000).
