Taxonomy
Knightina ampla was named by Kellett (1933). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Highway 73W, 0.25 mile west of Oskaloosa, which is in a Gzhelian carbonate limestone in the Deer Creek Formation of Kansas.
