Taxonomy
Gryponautilus truschelevi was named by Sobolev (1998). Its type specimen is TsSGM 2001/10 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Baka River, sample 219/6, Yana River basin, which is in a Fassanian marine horizon in the Ulakhan-Krest Formation of the Russian Federation.
