Taxonomy
Syringonautilus arcticus was named by Sobolev (1998). Its type specimen is TsSGM 2001/11 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tsvetkov Cape, sample 3101-2, Taimyr Peninsula, which is in a Fassanian marine horizon in the Kul'diminskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.
