Parapsolus was named by Applegate et al. (2009). It is not extant. Its type is Parapsolus tlayuensis.

It was assigned to Psolidae by Applegate et al. (2009).

S. P. Applegate et al. 2009Body oval, up to 52 mm in length and about half as wide. Anterior
end only slightly narrower than posterior. Body weakly scalloped laterally, with rounded protuberances. Ventrally, a thin-walled sole, with single row of marginal tube feet and a scattered group of feet at posterior end of midventral ambulacrum. Dorsally, numerous imbricating plates in rows. One or more tube feet pass through some scales. Mouth and anus dorsal. Calcareous ring simple, well developed, with anterior processes; radial pieces about twice as large as interradials, tending to be rectangular. Anterior projections of radial pieces with apical notch; those of interradial pieces terminate in smooth point.
