Taxonomy
Antechinus yammal was named by Cramb and Hocknull (2010). Its type specimen is QM F53683, a mandible (left mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Speaking tube Cove, which is in a Pleistocene/Pleistocene terrestrial horizon in Australia.
