Rithma disjuncta was named by Scudder (1886). It is an impression. Its type locality is Wiltshire (BMNH Brodie Coll.), which is in a Berriasian marine horizon in the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Blattula disjuncta by Handlirsch (1906).
