Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
A. Pérez-García and X. Murelaga 2012Cryptodiran turtle with the following character combination: low shell; thin carapace plates; no ornamentation; wide and shallow notch in the anterior region of the carapace, not limited to the nuchal plate; wide nuchal; subrectangular-wide neural plates; second neural plate shorter than the first one; absence of contact between the second neural plate and the boundary between the first two pairs of costals; short first pair of costal plates, with anterior and posterior margins parallel at least along its medial half; vertebral scutes much wider than long; medial contact between the first and second vertebral scutes located on the nuchal plate; absence of a cervical scute because of the contact between the first vertebral scute and the anterior margin of the carapace; hexagonal first dorsal vertebra, almost as wide as long; at least the second to fourth dorsal vertebrae elongated, with wide anterior and posterior areas; presence of a well-developed first dorsal rib; proximal region of the first dorsal rib poorly developed but those of at least the second to fourth ribs very robust, especially that of the second one
