Taxonomy
Wairakirhynchia morleyensis was named by MacFarlan (1992). Its type specimen is OU 15032, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is JDC 1346, Morley Bridge (D45/f7500), which is in an Anisian marine horizon in New Zealand.
