Taxonomy
Murihikurhynchia braxtonensis was named by MacFarlan (1992). Its type specimen is OU 16641, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is JDC 2746, South Braxton (D44/f221), which is in an Oretian marine horizon in New Zealand.
