Vincentirhynchia toki was named by MacFarlan (1992). Its type specimen is AU B200, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is AU 591, Ururoa Point (R15/f8006), which is in a Toarcian marine horizon in New Zealand.
