Taxonomy
Herangirhynchia arawheroensis was named by MacFarlan (1992). Its type specimen is OU 16721, a shell, and it is a mold. Its type locality is McF B22, Arawhero Point (R15/f030), which is in a Sinemurian marine horizon in New Zealand.
