Taxonomy
Furcirhynchia ururoaensis was named by MacFarlan (1992). Its type specimen is NZGS BR 1862, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GS 6809, Hole in the Wall, Ururoa Point (R15/f8686), which is in a Toarcian marine horizon in New Zealand.
