Haydenella bihemisphaera was named by Li (1986). Its type specimen is Yichang IGMR 562155 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GP3, Bunuo section, Changme district, Longlin county, which is in a Gzhelian marine horizon in the Maping Formation of China.
