Taxonomy
Terebratula numismalis was named by Lamarck (1819).

It was recombined as Zeilleria (Cincta) numismalis by Comas-Rengifo et al. (1999) and Alméras and Fauré (2000); it was recombined as Cincta numismalis by Ager et al. (1978), Hollingworth et al. (1990) and Vörös and Kandemir (2011).
