Taxonomy
Prismatoolithus heyuanensis was named by Lü (2006). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fengguang, Heyuan, which is in a Cretaceous terrestrial horizon in the Dongyuan Formation of China.
