Taxonomy
Gyrosina rotunda was named by Cooper (1983). Its type specimen is USNM 550992a, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nuits St. George, which is in a Callovian marine horizon in France. It is the type species of Gyrosina.
