Taxonomy
Arca (Scapharca) tirantensis was named by Hodson et al. (1927). Its type specimen is PRI 21903, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Anadara (Scapharca) tirantensis by Jung (1965); it was recombined as Anadara (Rasia) tirantensis by Hendy et al. (2008).
