Terebratula lycetti was named by Davidson (1851).

It was recombined as Zeilleria (Zeilleria) lycetti by Alméras and Fauré (2000); it was recombined as Zeilleria lycetti by Alméras (1996) and Vörös and Kandemir (2011).
