Cypraea spurcoides was named by Gabb (1873) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Caribbean.]. It is extant.
It was recombined as Erronea (Adusta) spurcoides by Dolin (1991); it was recombined as Zonaria (Zonaria) spurcoides by Groves and Nielsen (2003); it was misspelled as Zonaria spuroides by Hendy (2007); it was recombined as Zonaria spurcoides by Landau and Groves (2011).
