Taxonomy
Cancellaria cumingiana was named by Petit de la Saussaye (1844). It is extant.

It was recombined as Cancellaria (Olivia) cumingiana by Pilsbry and Olsson (1941) and Keen (1971); it was synonymized subjectively with Cancellaria (Massyla) obtusa by Landau et al. (2007); it was recombined as Massyla cumingiana by Landau et al. (2012) and Landau et al. (2012).
