Taxonomy
Massyla corpulenta was named by Landau et al. (2012). Its type specimen is NMB H19626, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is PPP# 1883 - Finger Island [Nancy Point Fm], which is in a Messinian coastal siltstone in the Nancy Point Formation of Panama.
