Cancellaria zapoteca was named by Böse (1910) [DISTRIBUTION: Neogene; Mexico.]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Agatrix zapoteca by Petit (1967); it was recombined as Admetula zapoteca by Jung and Petit (1990) and Landau et al. (2012).
